Each Quarter the Specials schedule is modified to provide access to a variety of Specials for each class. A tentative schedule has been implemented and will be fine tuned this week to adjust for any teacher feedback.
Please know that students will be coming home today with 2nd Quarter Report Cards. If you have a question concerning your child’s grades, please consult with your child’s teacher.
Students in Grades 2-8 will also be bringing home results of the MAP tests that were administered in January and early February. The Middle of the Year (MOY) print out also indicates your child’s growth goal for the End of Year (EOY) assessment. The window for EOY MAP assessments is currently scheduled for May 11 – June 12.
Have questions regarding the MAP tests? Please see the NWEA/MAP Frequently Asked Questions.
Anyone who has not paid their student fee for the 2014-2015 school year will also be getting an invoice reminder.
If you feel this invoice was generated in error, please contact Flor Pineiro at email@example.com.
Dear CPS Parent or Guardian,
As you may be aware, cases of measles have recently been reported in more than a dozen states, including Illinois. Parents are required to show proof that their child is vaccinated prior to enrolling them in a CPS school, however we still want to provide you with information to help ensure the health of your family.
Below are some important facts about measles from the Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH):
- Measles is a serious respiratory infection that can be dangerous to children.
- Symptoms include a high fever and a rash of tiny red spots that spreads from the head to the rest of the body.
- Measles is spread when infected people breathe, sneeze or cough. It is extremely contagious.
- The best way to protect against measles is to get the measles vaccine.
If you or your child has not been vaccinated for measles, I strongly encourage you to contact your healthcare provider to get the vaccine. You can also call 3-1-1 to find a CDPH clinic where the measles vaccine is offered free of charge.
CPS will continue working with the CDPH on best practices for preventing the outbreak of measles in our schools. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Student Health and Wellness at (773) 553-3560.
