Blaine’s Local School Council currently has an opening for a parent representative position to complete the 2016-2018 term.

Blaine parents who are interested in being a parent representative on the LSC must complete and turn in the attached candidate forms by Friday,October 13th at 3 p.m. to Ms. Olsen in the main office. The next LSC meeting – where candidates will have an opportunity to address the LSC and community – is Tuesday, October 24th. The LSC plans to elect the parent representative at that meeting.

The LSC is responsible for:

• Approving how school funds and resources are allocated
• Developing and monitoring the annual continuous improvement work plan (CIWP)
• Evaluating and selecting the principal

Members of this board include: six parents, two teachers, two community members, a career services member, and the school principal. We conduct monthly public meetings, monitor the budget and facilities, vote on fundraising proposals and work closely with the administration to address any other issues and opportunities that arise
