Are you a parent of an incoming kindergartner and interested in getting involved in the Kindergarten Fund? We’re looking for volunteers for the 2018-2019 school year.
What is the K Fund? It’s a fundraising arm of Blaine that is run by parents with children entering kindergarten. The 501(c)3 was established to help support the funding of additional kindergarten staff. Each year, K Fund has successfully raised enough funding to cover the salaries of two full-time certified teaching assistants to support small group instruction, whole group instruction and enrichment.
Why? With a student-teacher ratio of 28:1 – having the assistants is critical to the growth of our kids. The kindergarten assistants spend their time between the four kindergarten classes and work in smaller groups with the kids. Research shows students excel when the student-to-teacher ratio decreases.
