After School Electives

Blaine is proud to offer a variety of after school electives.  Each quarter, Blaine partners with area vendors to provide enrichment programs for students K-8.

Using our proprietary project kits and model plans, each week the students will build a different moving model. Our one-of-a-kind models incorporate gears, axles, motors & battery packs!! Each model build relates to the terms and concepts that the students discussed in that days lesson. Please join us as we learn, build, and play with LEGO® bricks!! Limited spots are available. Students will receive a custom LEGO® mini-figure at the end of the session.

Bit Space after-school computing class

A computer programming and modeling class in which kids create interactive virtual reality worlds.  Teams of students work creatively and collaboratively to design worlds that use simulated physics and computer programming to bring the world alive.

Thursdays 3:00-4:00 or 4:15-5:15

9 Sessions for $195 per student

Chess Wizards

A premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons to students. Chess Wizards teaches children many important life concepts, such as learning the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship. Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. At the end of this session, each student will have had the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament.

Classes meet on Wednesdays 3:15 to 4:15 beginning Feb, 8th to April 5th – 9 classes for $135

Design Dance: Hip Hop

Students learn basic hip hop choreography to upbeat music in a fun, encouraging environment! Dancers will improve upon dance technique, as well as explore the history of hip hop and learn about rhythm and music. The students will be encouraged to create their own dance moves by participating in improvisational games. This class concludes with a parent observation on the final week of class.

Classes are held Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:15- Starting Feb, 6th – 9 classes $135

Language Stars: Spanish

Register for Spanish with Language Stars!  Quarter 3 starts February 6th! Q3: $180 for 9 week session; Q4: $140 for 7 week session

Mission Propelle – Girls Empowerment Yoga

Time is flying by! Registration for quarter 3 is now open, class starts February 9th.  Carolyn (new instructor) will lead Q3 as well! As always if you send a friend along you will get $20 off and if you send 3 friends, you will get your tuition for free!

Mission Propelle at Blaine Elementary runs from 3:10 to 4:10 p.m. every Wednesday starting 2/8/17 and ending 4/5/17. Cost is returning students: $144  and New Students- $154 (includes Yoga mat)

Sprout Robotics

Let your kids learn Hands-On Robotics programming and component design experience.

STEM based learning methods on a 4th to 8th grade level focusing on group approach.

Inspiring the minds of the future with direct Robotics projects in class. Learn about Lights,

Motors, Computer programming on a easy to understand curriculum. Kids who finish this class will have the ability to understand components and programming to use their own imagination to inspire creativity in our technology driven future. Basic and fundamental design approaches will create the maker mind while opening up endless possibilities with microprocessors and components. The goal of this class is to educate students on the future of technology through Hands-On group-based approaches and preparing them for the future.

Classes are held on Tuesdays or Fridays from 3:00 to 4:30 and begin Feb. 7th for 10 weeks for $350

Ten Pound Cake Company

Ten Pound Cake Company will provide after school cooking classes at Blaine Elementary. Your child will learn some basic cooking skills along with healthy eating tips empowering them to make good food choices. All lessons will be age and skill appropriate. The best part – they come home with the recipes and their treats.

Classes for the 3rd Quarter begin Feb. 13th

Monday- 1st/2nd Grades: 3:15 to 4:15  –  7 weeks – $175.00

Tuesday- 3rd/4th grades: 3:15 to 4:15 –  8 weeks – $200.00

Wednesday- 5th/8th Grades: 3:00 – 5:00  –  8 weeks – $200.00

Thursday -1st/2nd Grades:  3:15 – 4:15 –  8 weeks – $200.00

Friday – 3rd/4th Grades: 3:15 – 4:15 –  7 weeks =- $175.00

Grades 1-4 will be picked up from the auditorium and walked to the cafeteria. Parents can pick their children up in the cafeteria at 4:30. All food supplies and equipment will be provided by Ten Pound Cake Company.

A maximum of 10 children per class.
