Intervention

At Blaine Elementary School, every child is unique, and every child’s success is important to us. Our goal is to ensure that your child receives effective instruction so that he/she will have a positive learning experience. We also recognize that all children have different learning needs, which may require individualized support and interventions.

Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is a school-wide initiative to ensure that every student is receiving solid core instruction. If we notice that a student needs support beyond the core curriculum, we offer varied levels of targeted instruction to help him/her stay on track.

How MTSS looks at Blaine:

● All students will complete a brief academic screening in reading and math three times each year to identify students who could benefit from more individualized instruction.
● Students will work on targeted skills through research-based individualized instruction and will participate in progress monitoring assessments on a scheduled basis.
● Students’ progress will be reviewed regularly to determine the need to continue, intensify, or change the intervention.

We look forward to sharing additional information with you as we progress through the school year. As always, do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher if you have questions or concerns.
