Middle School Clubs

Middle students have the unique opportunity to join after-school clubs just for them. These clubs are run by teachers and/or parent volunteers.

Visit Yubbler to sign-up for the current Middle School Clubs.

Blaine Safety Squad

Are you a responsible, reliable, and trustworthy student heading into 6th, 7th or 8th grade?

Can you commit to one or more days a week arriving at Blaine by 7:40am to help Blaine students get to school safely?

If you answered yes to these two questions, please consider joining the Safeties!

Safeties help students know when it’s safe to cross streets where city-issued crossing guards are not available, as well as serve as greeters at the main kindergarten doors and entrances on Southport.  They also assist ‘Kiss & Go’ volunteers.

Blaine Student Council

Students in grades 5th-8th are invited to run for Blaine Student Council, either as a classroom representative or as a Student Council officer (president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer).

General responsibilities include attending student council meetings (3:00-3:45 p.m. on Wednesdays), bringing classmates’ suggestions to meetings, reporting information back to their classrooms, helping with school projects and promoting school pride. Student Council members also plan activities that advance the social and civic development of the student body. In addition, the members present student concerns to the Blaine School LSC and administration.

The teacher advisers–Ms. Nash and Ms. Krause–provide support and guidance as the Student Council members reach their goals, by creating activities and service projects.
